Next years party will be held on Saturday August 7, 2010 Noon to 6PM
SCENE Magazine & Chicago-Scene.com Annual Boat Party. Featured by The New York Times as one of the best boat parties in the USA. The event takes place in The Play Pen located off Chicago Avenue Beach. Consistently voted the wettest and wildest event of the summer, this party is not to be missed. Thousands of Chicagoans in over 500 boats show up each year to party with friends and strangers on beautiful Lake Michigan.
This event is open to the public and no advance tickets will be sold - anyone with a boat, yacht, or jet ski can join the party for just a few hours or the whole day. Attendees must find their own boat to go on and are encouraged to bring plenty of food, water and drinks to last all day.
Chicago Scene reminds everyone to drink responsibly and party safely. The City of Chicago Marine Police and U.S. Coast Guard will be present.

Just North of the Water Filtration Plant at Chicago Avenue beach.
Open to the public, anyone with a boat, Yacht, Jet ski, or Canoe.
Please have a designated captain and at least one life preserver per person.
Drink responsibly & Party safely.
Safety is our biggest concern!
Make sure at least every other boat puts out an anchor.
Bring plenty of bumpers & lines to tie up properly.
The Chicago Police plan to board every boat so please make sure you are not breaking any laws.
Please keep the sound level on your boat at a reasonable level, music should not be heard more then 150 feet from your boat.
Make sure there is ample room between strings of boats so the Police & Coast Guard can get through, behind & in front of your boat.
Do not let people that have had too much to drink swim with out a PFD.
Please bring plenty of water & food that will last all day.
No, we do not sell tickets to the party.
You must find your own boat to go on.
Play Pen Safety Letter
A maximum of 50 boats will be allowed per line of boats.
There must be 150 feet between the back of your boat and the front of the boat in the line behind you.
There must be room for the Police boats to travel easily between lines of boats.
