25 Degrees
736 N. Clark - 312.943.9700
Chicago’s River North area is getting a taste of California with its latest restaurant: 25 Degrees. The eatery is bringing in the heat with its twist on the traditional American burger joint. It offers a casual, yet upscale dinning experience with a creative menu and fully stocked wine bar with over 50 selections.
25 degrees is all about the burgers, starting with the name of the eatery. 25 degrees refers to the temperature difference between a medium rare and well-done burger. The menu serves up a variety of burgers that can be cooked from medium rare all the way up to well done. All the burgers are topped with a variety of condiments and start at the reasonable price of $9. There also are several different types of burgers including chopped sirloin beef, veggie, tuna and turkey burgers.
What makes the burgers so unique is the wide range of gourmet toppings you can add onto them. Guests can choose from specialty burgers that the eatery features, such as burger number three, which comes with mezzo secco jack cheese, green chili, chipotle and avocado, or they can choose to create their own burgers.
While building their own burgers, guests have much to think about as they choose from the overly stocked list of toppings which features 14 domestic and imported cheeses, more than a dozen house-made sauces, crispy prosciutto, fried egg and roasted roma tomatoes.
To accompany the burgers, the restaurant continues to add variety to the menu with their sides of french fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings along with a selection of dipping sauces that can’t be found anywhere else.
The other unique aspect of 25 Degrees is the wine bar which offers an affordable wine list with over 15 wines offered by the jug that start at $7. A range of over 50 boutique bottle selections of wine are also featured along with a large selection of draft beer, as well as root beer on tap.
