Masa Azul co-founder Jason Lerner laughs at the common notion of “super premium” tequilas. As a passionate tequila enthusiast, he is committed to providing customers with the cream of the crop in the tequila, stool and mezcal department (mixed metaphor aside). Masa Azul’s tequila list runs 80 high, mezcal 10, and the stool is a one and only, produced from the little known and much loved Desert Spoon plant.

In addition to Masa Azul’s USA Today Top 25 Tequilla Bars beverage service, they also serve mean southwestern cuisine, courtesy of Executive Chef Alvaro Chavez. With a laid-back upscale energy, this Logan Square eatery fuses traditional dishes of the American Southwest with the “noble spirits of Mexico.” The modern urban aesthetic manifests into dishes such as mesquite duck breast, tequila infused chutney and chipotle triple chocolate cake.
