Patron's Hacienda
316 W. Erie - 312.642.2400
Mexican family recipes are hard to come by, but Chicagoans don’t have to look any further because Chicago’s very own River North area is welcoming the latest Mexican restaurant and sports cantina: Patron Hacienda. This eatery features fine steaks, traditional Mexican dishes and a sports cantina that sets it apart from all the other Mexican restaurants in town.
The owners of the eatery have a background in restaurants specifically from Mexico City and the Chicago Western suburbs and they are known for their authentic Mexican dishes. The focus of Patron Hacienda is its long-running family recipes and affordable prices in the River North area, which is usually hard to come by.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of Mexican favorites, sizzling steaks and chops and “La Taqueria” or ‘taco stands with guests’ where people can choose from savory Mexican fillings and ingredients. Mexican specialty appetizers spice up the menu and include Chroriqueso Fundido with house made Mexican sausage, Quesadilla Azteca with pollo achiote and Elotitios (corn on the cob split in two prepared in the Mexican street vendor style with mayo, queso cotija and chili powder). Guests also can enjoy entrées for their main course such as the half chicken with mole or tamarind sauce, fish or jumbo shrimp made with homemade Veracruzana salsa and a traditional Carne Asada platter.
The eatery puts an emphasis on their selection of steaks and chops, which are all marinated in their family recipe marinade. NY strip, Filet Mignon, bone-in Rib-Eye and Porter House all make up the tender cuts of steak that Patron Hacienda serve up grilled to perfection. Not only will the steaks make your mouth water, but they also will make your pockets happy when you see their reasonable prices starting at $6.95 and going up to $24.95.
For guests who are looking for a cocktail to go along with their meal, the bar will be serving up over 15 signature cocktails with fresh herbs, seasonal fruit and a variety of tequilas. A signature cocktail called La Fresa consists of rosemary, fresh strawberries, elderflower Liqueur, Casa Noble Reposado Tequila, lime juice and egg whites. For the tequila lovers, the eatery features over 56 varieties of the alcoholic beverage, which is each presented with a description for easy selection. Guests also have the choice to create a customized tequila flight by selecting any four tequilas served as half ounces (at half the price) and paired up with a shot of sangrita and slices of cucumber and lime for your tasting pleasure.
Besides offering great food and drinks, Patron Hacienda also offers a sports cantina that includes state-of-the-art tv and sounds systems that can be viewed on 18 flat screens and 55 inch TV’s that can be individually controlled so that guests can select which games they’d like to watch. Patron Hacienda suits each and every guest’s dining preferences, whether it is eating authentic Mexican cuisine, drinking a specialty cocktail to unwind, or getting a front row seat to watch a sports game on TV. Patron Hacienda is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 pm to 2 am, and Saturday from 5 pm to 3 am.
