Quay Restaurant & Bar

465 E. Illinois, 312.981.8400

Along the Chicago River, Quay Restaurant & Bar opened in the River East Plaza last Friday, serving its first lunch and dinner, followed subsequently by daily breakfast. Breathtaking views of the river are displayed through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the atrium. Contemporary American cuisine, created by Executive Chef Nolan Narut, is served in the restaurant’s three massive rooms.

The main bar, dining room and solarium are joined through a water theme with white wave panels and overlook the Chicago River. The outdoor dockside patio with a 2,000-foot waterside seating space is perfect for enjoying al fresco dining and drinks. The restaurant even brings food and liquor for boaters on the go.

The menu features surf and turf sliders, pan seared diver scallops, crispy breaded oysters and 21 day aged New York strip, all complementing the water theme. An extensive wine list, handcrafted cocktails and a large assortment of local microbrews also complement the upscale comfort food.

The bar’s own atmosphere centers on the sleek and chic Chicago nightlife. The bar sports two bars, one in front and one in the back, holding more than 300 people. 45 plasma TVs and a serpentine banquet make the indoor bar look like the bottom of the ocean.
For those seeking more privacy, Quay also has a private dining room for seating for up to 25.
