Chicago-Scene.com and SCENE magazine have taken on the daunting task of comprising the best of the best of Chicago – restaurants, bars, clubs, stores and more.

While other publications’ “Best of Chicago” polls may allow their readers to vote as many times as they like (electronic vote stuffing if you will), we wanted our "Best of" to be a true guide to the city's best, and we had nothing to gain from this project except the sheer knowledge of knowing these results are honest.

Therefore, to conduct an accurate poll, we took a cue from our friends in Hollywood and elected an “Academy” of voters – the most prominent Chicago figures in the Nightlife, Restaurant, Music, PR, Radio/TV and Fashion industries. As you can see by the names listed on page 46, we assembled a pretty good cast - they all know their stuff – so if you have a problem with a winner take it up with them!.
